Copenhagen Airport Delays: What Travellers Need to Know This Weekend

Travellers flying from Copenhagen Airport should prepare for longer queues this weekend, according to reporting published by The Local on 23 October 2026. Additional security checks are expected to continue, making it important for passengers to plan ahead and allow sufficient time before departure.

Arrive Early at Copenhagen Airport

During periods of disruption, arriving early can help reduce the risk of missing your flight. Check your airline’s instructions and the airport’s latest travel updates before leaving.

Allow at least two hours before European flights and three hours before flights outside Europe, following the airport’s general guidance. Additional time may be sensible if you expect heavy queues or have special travel requirements.

Plan Your Journey in Advance

Security checks are only one part of the airport process. Check-in, baggage drop, passport control and finding your departure gate can also take time.

Keep your travel documents ready, monitor your flight status and avoid leaving your journey to the last minute. If you are travelling during a busy weekend, arrange your transport early and consider possible road delays.

Travelling to or from the Airport

Reliable ground transport is an important part of a well-planned journey. Travellers can choose public transport, a taxi or a pre-booked private chauffeur, depending on their needs.

For business travellers, families and visitors to Copenhagen, booking a private chauffeur in advance can provide a comfortable and organised transfer between Copenhagen Airport, hotels and other destinations.

Travel Comfortably with FORNEMO

FORNEMO provides private chauffeur services in Copenhagen for airport transfers, business travel and hotel journeys. Our focus is on professional service, comfort and clear transport arrangements.

A pre-booked chauffeur can help organise your journey to or from the airport, but cannot shorten airport security queues or guarantee faster processing. Passengers should always allow sufficient time and follow official airport guidance.

Final Travel Advice

Before leaving for Copenhagen Airport, check your flight status, review the latest airport information and confirm your transport arrangements. A little preparation can make a significant difference when queues are longer than usual.
